What is the difference between a Clinical Informatics Fellowship Trained Physician and a Clinical Informatics Practice Pathway Physician?

Practice Pathway

3 yrs at 0.25 FTE in Clinical Informatics

- Equivalent of ~1,500 hrs

Masters or PhD in Biomedical Informatics

- Clinical hours not required

CI Fellowship

2 yrs at 0.8 - 0.9 FTE in Clinical Informatics

- Equivalent of ~3,300 hrs in CI

- Structured, comprehensive foundation

- Integration of clinical specialty and Informatics throughout training

Many Fellows also graduate with a Masters in Biomedical Informatics or equivalent
